Chapter · About
I was born and raised in San Jose, California — Silicon Valley. I have been fascinated by technology my whole life. From customizing MySpace with HTML and CSS to scripting in games like Ragnarok Online, tinkering is something I have always enjoyed, and programming pushed that further.
Currently I spend most of my time at OpenColo as a Support Engineer. I work with an incredible team on bare metal hosting and data center colocation. We provide 2N power redundancy, N+1 cooling, and 2N networking so clients get reliability, availability, and speed. OpenColo bridges users to their machines with 24/7 support.
Outside the ticket queue I dig into network automation, observability (Grafana/Prometheus), and AI agent tooling — orchestration and prompt strategies that make internal tools faster to ship. On the side I build personal finance experiments, a matcha restock tracker, and a ticketing exchange for ravers.
Chapter · Work
Network engineering and internal tooling at scale — migrations, observability, and automation that keep bare metal and routing reliable.
01
Created and maintain organizational geofeed served with nginx. Scripts manage, update, and verify geofeed files for multiple IP databases (MaxMind, IPBase, and others).
02
Full network cabinet migrations with uplink uptime around 99%. Router migrations planned and executed for near-zero downtime.
03
Full Grafana + Prometheus setup with exporters and dashboards: provider and peer status, in/out rate dips and peaks, spine and leaf switch port visibility and bandwidth, system status and logs. Alerts for network drops, BGP peering changes, and critical logs. Export via SNMP and gNMI into Prometheus.
04
Customer full network setups from uplink switches/routers to downstream servers (140+). Routing redundancy architectures and quick server setup automation.
05
Migrated internal tooling from PHP 8 to Python / Svelte / FastAPI — roughly 10x efficiency through automation APIs and version-controlled network changes. Portal for network selection to configuration, one-click create/delete with idempotency, automatic network backups with config history and diffs, searchable IP tables, IPMI database, audit logs and admin panel, plus a data-hall fiber distance measuring tool.
